Shopify June ’25 Digest: New Features and Improvements to Keep an Eye On

Shopify June Updates

Shopify continues to add new functionality in different categories to provide ecommerce businesses with more tools to grow. In June 2025, the platform presented eleven new features and improvements in six categories. Here, we explore them in detail to keep you informed about Shopify's news and let you implement the latest enhancements to stay competitive in the ecommerce market.

Shopify Checkout

Shopify Checkout is still among the most effective ecommerce checkouts, especially if you use the platform's native payment method – Shop Pay. However, June ’25 is not very fruitful regarding checkout improvements, since Shopify Summer Edition has recently introduced plenty of new features.

Google Pay now available in Checkout Kit

You can now use Google Pay as an express checkout option within Checkout Kit (formerly known as Checkout Sheet Kit). Checkout Kit is a library that allows embedding Shopify’s checkout to Android mobile apps.

Shipments to Malta now require a postcode

Shopify made the postcode field required for domestic and international shipments to Malta at checkout to comply with MaltaPost requirements. Previously, postcodes were optional. This change for merchants engaged in global selling is live in checkout and Shop Pay, regardless of the shipping method selected.

Shopify Admin

The Shopify team strives to simplify merchants’ lives by improving the Admin. In June, Shopify rolled out two enhancements in this category.

Shopify introduced the Duplicate feature for menus in the Shopify admin to streamline the process of creating similar navigation structures across your store. By clicking ‘Duplicate’ in the top right corner of every menu, you can now make an exact copy and add some changes for the menu variation, instead of building the menu from scratch.

Flow now uses version 2024-10 of the GraphQL Admin API

Shopify Flow currently uses version 2024-10 of the GraphQL Admin API to build automations and integrations that extend the Shopify admin functionality. This version has a number of changes, such as improvements to the product query to support filtering by collection_id, publication_ids, variant_id, and variant_title.

Shopify POS

Retailers will enjoy the new Shopify POS feature that makes the in-store experience even more convenient. What are we talking about?

Customize multiple versions of the same product variant in the cart

You can now more easily process complex orders with multiple sales items through Shopify POS using customization. For example, if you sell multiple coffee orders with different names or custom sizes, you can add the variation right in the cart without creating separate transactions.

Shopify Analytics

The most significant number of June updates is in the Analytics category, as Shopify has introduced a new approach to handling store data.

The new Analytics experience is now the default for all stores

Analytics have been completely rebuilt, and every store owner can now view the renovation by default in their dashboards. What’s new?

  • Real-time store data
  • Custom dashboards
  • Reports with any combination of metrics
  • In-context querying with ShopifyQL

Additionally, note that you can utilize these new Analytics features within the Shopify mobile app.

Use ShopifyQL to query your store's data from any analytics report

With the new Analytics, you have access to the ShopifyQL (Shopify Query Language) query editor. It allows you to create custom queries for any report to get some in-depth information you might need faster.

Key product bundles metrics now available in the Shopify Bundles app

You can now see how your product bundles perform using the Shopify Bundles app. The metrics included are bundle total sales, bundle orders, top total sales, and most ordered bundles. Each of these four metrics has a detailed report in Analytics so that you can explore data through tables and visualizations, and customize the report’s view in line with your needs.

Live View, benchmarks, and customer cohort analysis are now supported in the new analytics experience

Features previously available in Shopify analytics are now supported in the new analytics experience.

  • Live View lets you track flash sales and promotional events with a dashboard that refreshes the top metrics.
  • Benchmarks allow you to compare your store metrics with similar stores if you’re eligible.
  • The customer cohort analysis report provides you with behavioral metrics, such as predicted spend tier and retention rates.

Marketing

With Shopify marketing features, you can generate and nurture leads, create promotional campaigns, enable social media integration, and much more. June updates give you a new opportunity to engage with customers who submit forms on your website.

Reply directly to customers who submit a Shopify Form

You can now turn on notifications to receive an email every time a customer submits a form and to directly reply to them using your email address. This feature is helpful for forms that request a quote or inquire about a custom service.

Shopify Payments

Shopify extends the number of payment methods and takes the next step to cryptocurrency support.

Introducing USDC on Base with Shopify Payments

USDC is a stablecoin issued by the Circle company, which is a form of cryptocurrency linked to the US dollar. Shopify Payments starts supporting USDC for eligible markets using the Base payment network. Customers can make payments with hundreds of supported crypto wallets. Merchants will receive payouts in their local currency, with no exchange fees. Alternatively, they can connect their crypto wallets that support the Base network.
