Laurus is a modern law firm based in the United Kingdom specializing in delivering legal services such as property moving, care and protection of family interests, and assets protection.

Business needs

The company has branches across the country. As each branch has its own specialization, the employees have to manually process every appeal and distribute it to other offices. For example, a specialist must collect information from a client by phone or email and then prepare documents. This process needed optimization as it took too much working time. Therefore the business couldn’t proceed with more deals and, as a result, lost profit.

Technologies

Ruby on Rails is a framework that provides default structures for a database, a web service, and web pages. It allows us to proceed with the quick development of API for a web application at all levels for MVP and PoC.

ReactJS is a library for UI creation based on the components. It enables the development of responsive UI and single-page applications.

BPMN Workflow Engine is a process execution engine that helps to model, visualize graphically, and automate business processes.

AWS for hosting and DevOps is the most suitable choice for small and medium-sized enterprises for its compatibility with open-source technologies. AWS provides a lot of useful services to develop and deliver an application as fast as possible.

PostgreSQL is an open-source SQL database with wide functionality and adaptable search.

Google API allows communication with Google Services and their integration to other services such as Search, Gmail, Translate, or Google Maps.

Solution

The solution was to introduce digital transformation to the company. It included integration of the BPMN Workflow Engine RPA system for automation of manual tasks and development of two separate applications for gathering, sharing client information and other documentation between the company offices. We developed a cloud-based platform with two Ul applications and a shared API. The first application was designed for automation of manual tasks. The second application was designed for collecting data from clients automatically and getting a quote for buying or selling a specific property.

Result

The company managed to reduce manual processes five-fold and to handle all data by all specialists in one system. The process became transparent and effective for both sides, the company and clients.
